Wow! One of my owners, the youngest one, decided to start a blog for Stella! This is such exciting news that I have to share it with you. Here is the URL: http://blogofastelladog.blogspot.com.

I have been gone for a while which can be attributed to the fact that my owners have had a very tough spring. Stella and I have however thrived and realized that it's a good life here in our new home. We have lived here almost a year and it has taken a while getting used to the coming and going of the humans in our family. They tend to be very busy and Stella and I have to settle for playing with each other during the daytime and with our owners mostly in the evenings and on weekends. The addition of a pool and deck in the backyard has however made a world of difference. We were stuck inside during construction and that was tough but now we can roam around in the backyard, get in and out of the pool on our own, wrestle on the deck... This is the life! Our owners had to add a new fence to prevent us from climbing the back wall in a particular spot (it is complicated to explain but the back wall is not the same height everywhere and this made it possible for us to climb it and end up on a busy street...). Now we feel completely safe again.
Of course there is still time to snooze which is why I am posting this picture!

Since you may have the wrong idea about me I want to post this picture of me. I am really a very loving and caring dog with the best of intentions (=it's all Stella's fault...).

The New Year has started and it has been a bit crazy. Our owners went back to work and school after the Holidays and we went back to being nuts! Stella and I have been working our way through the house and devouring items that have been conveniently placed (?) for us to find and chew on. It is just no fun being by ourselves for any length of time... Our owners are very understanding and have now made it more exciting for us by placing things in much more inaccessible places, something that is providing us with daily challenges. I have an alternative interpretation to why they are doing this (making it more difficult for us to find stuff to tear apart) but I will keep that thought to myself for now. If it turns out that I am right I will share it with you and take credit for having figured it out. For now I will continue living in the belief that pretty much everything soft in this world: pillows, gloves, blankets, socks, t-shirts, paperbacks, magazines, exists for us to chew on and enjoy.

Snuggling with our owners is one of our favorite things to doI By-the-way I can't believe I have not written anything for several months. It may be because our lives have been disrupted by the construction going on in our backyard. It was transformed from a grassy area, which was nice enough, to a mud pit, to a concrete bowl, and now (finally, according to our owners!) to a pool of deep blue water! Our owners claim that one day they will actually venture into this pool of water, preferably after it has stopped snowing! Back to the snuggling... There is often competition between myself and Stella regarding who will get the best snuggle location vis-a-vis the location of our owners. I think so far things have come out pretty even. Just so you know, we are excellent snugglers!

Taking a "walk" with our owners turns out to be quite challenging! They have no interest in walking at our pace at all but keep pulling and tugging on our "umbilical cords" (an expression I picked up watching spacewalks on the NASA channel!) to make us walk this way and that. Poor souls, they even have to color code the cords so that they know which of us they are connected to (check out the picture!).
Since we are very sensing creatures we know when a dog has walked on "our" sidewalk recently. We even know which one, leading to varying levels of excitement on our part. We really like all people and all dogs but just have a little more difficulty in getting along with some than others. Eventually though I think we will be just fine.

Now I am not a very sensitive guy but I am getting a bit annoyed at my buddy Stella, since she always tries to steal the spotlight. If there is a picture to be taken (of me!) then Stella almost always squeezes in front of me... The picture to the right is a case in point. Now I was perfectly placed on the pillow and guess what? There she is all of a sudden almost entirely blocking me from view from the camera! What is that all about? I am sure there are no humans that behave like that...
The same thing happens if I am being petted by one of my owners. Everything is fine and then there she is, sticking her big head in front of mine trying to grab everyone's attention and affection. I do like her a lot and we have a lot of fun together but come on!!!
